call for lightning talks

ISWC 2021 Call Lightning Talks

The Lightning Talks continue the Minute Madness tradition at the International Semantic Web Conference that started back in 2011. It has always been an entertaining session that provides conference participants with a quick and fun overview of what is going on in the ISWC community.

This session will be opened up to every conference attendee to submit a contribution to the Lightning Talks call. Although we aim to accommodate as many talk proposals as possible, the submissions, in the form of a 1-minute video, will be ranked by the Poster and Demo Program Committee and the best 20 contributions will be selected.

If you have a Poster or Demo accepted at ISWC 2021, please do not submit it for the Lightning Talks as well. Posters and Demos also feature a one-minute teaser video to be streamed at the conference.

Submission Guidelines

To participate in the Lightning Talks, please submit your 1-minute video through this form (https://bit.ly/iswc21-lightning-talk-submission) no later than September 30 (23:59 AoE). Your submission includes:

  • • your name, e-mail and affiliation — i.e., the person who presents the talk;
  • • a title for your talk
  • • a 1-minute video (can be a screencast or recorded with your camera/phone with a strict 60 seconds duration) in which you pitch your contribution.

Please, remember that the Lightning Talks is about combining science with entertainment, so be prepared to captivate the audience, no boring talks allowed!
